In the USA - more toilets flush at the half time of the Super Bowl than at any other time of the year.

Last year Americans ate more than 8.5 million pounds of tortilla chips on Super Bowl Sunday.

Dominos Pizza sales typically double on Super Bowl Sunday.

Super Bowl Monday sales of antacids increase by more than 20% over other Mondays.

Eight percent of those watching will be tuning in just to see the ads.

Super Bowl XLI ads cost an average of just over $80,000 per second at $2.4 million for a 30 second spot.

How do you get a ticket to a Super Bowl? The tickets are distributed as follows:

AFC Champion - 17.5 percent
NFC Champion - 17.5 percent
Host Team (Dolphins) - 5.0 percent
Other 29 Teams - 34.8 percent
NFL - 25.2 percent

There are no public sales for tickets to the Super Bowl. If you are not so fortunate as to know someone within the NFL, all requests for the remaining available tickets (about 1% of total tickets available) are selected in a random drawing.

Cost of the Vince Lombardi Trophy: $25,000

Who makes Super Bowl Trophy: Tiffany & Co. of New York.

Cost of Super Bowl rings: League pays for up to 150 rings at $5,000 per ring (plus adjustments for increases in gold and diamonds). League also pays for 150 pieces of jewelry for the losing team, which may not cost more than one-half the price set for the Super Bowl ring.

Host city economic impact: Super Bowl XL generated a total economic impact in Detroit of $261 million, according to a study commissioned by Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau.

We also took some photos for a competition that's coming up this weekend in Des Moines. We'll let you know how we fare. We're really excited to enter our work against some of the people that we admire in the industry, and see if we can get some awards. Last year we took home a 2nd place in the Wedding Category, and a 3rd Place in the Miss Photogenic contest in our first year of entering competition!! So excited, we were! So this year, the stakes are higher, as are our goals.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, I don't know about you, but our Christmas Season was equally as busy as it ever has been, but we were able to spend quality time with family out-of-state and in Iowa. But, it's time for some more recent photos, so here you go:


Sheldon and Ericka were a really fun couple to work with, and we enjoyed another opportunity to photograph a wedding in a new location: Goshen, IN.
