    Seniors: Jill

Well, this is it! The last senior of the season for us. Now, some of you have been asking "Why would you put a deadline on seniors...are you afraid of the cold? Are you too busy?" and so on. Well, we will answer this question and many others during our interview which I will post on Friday! We have some interesting questions from you all, and we will answer a few of the senior questions as well, just for fun. Thanks for contributing!

I hope this little feature has been as much fun for you to read as it has been for me to post. It's unbelievably hard to narrow the responses down to 10 or so. I love reading the answers that the seniors send me, and its been fun to "meet" each of them.

Sorry to steal your webspace with rambling, Jill....take it away!

    PPIowa: Updated

Every year, for the past one year (I'm hilarious) we've been going to Professional Photographers of Iowa's Fall Event held in Des Moines for a nice relaxing weekend of photography stuff. It's about learning from the Masters, and entering competitions and judging other people's work....not that our opinion matters. For Jodi and I, it's more of a get-away from the office. It's fun to meet with other photographers from Iowa and learn from each other what works and doesn't work...what companies are good for outsourcing and so on and so forth. They do the same thing in the winter/spring on a larger scale (with more serious competition) that we've gone to for several years, as well.

This fall there is a portfolio competition, so we've chosen to enter, and I'll show you what we're taking. Please take no offense if your collection wasn't selected. These were chosen for a variety of reasons....

    **UPDATE**

Hey everyone...we're back, and unfortunately we didn't place with any of the prints we took. Oh well, live and learn, try again in February! We had a great weekend anyway!

Upcoming posts include (in no particular order):

    1) Caroline - Tuesday
    2) Jill
    3) Lindsay and Greg's Wedding
    4) Jodi and I answering your interview questions. It should be fun! We'll have some photos too.

    Katie and Brian

This was the most perfect Fall day anyone could ask for, and it was wonderful for the wedding! Katie was hilarious in that she was ready to be out of the dress, and into more comfortable attire before the ceremony started! :) I'm sure she isn't the first bride to ever think that! We loved watching how Brian thinks the world of Katie, and capturing some of the little moments they shared throughout the day. We also enjoyed trying some new things with lighting using our off-camera flash, which was fantastic! We may have to hire someone to come along just to hold it. :)

    Kari and Michael E:Session

I've been spending some time on our website, updating the Engagement Gallery, as well as adding a new page titled "Designs" that will showcase some of our album designs as well as feature some of our comptition designs and client compositions.

It's always fun for us to see and work with people that have been in previous weddings as bridesmaids, groomsmen, or guests... Kari and Michael are two of those people! We met them earlier this summer at Erika and Patrick's Wedding, and it was nice to see familiar faces. It was fun hanging out with them during the shoot and hearing their story about when they met, and how Michael proposed....very cool! Happy planning guys... see you next year!

As you know, I have been posting interviews for each of the seniors that we've previewed on the blog. Now, it's your turn to ask the questions, and fair is fair...so this time, Jodi and I are the ones answering! You can ask repeats of questions I've already asked or new ones. Send questions to rodney@gehmanphotography.com or just write them in the comment sections.

*We are loving the questions that are coming in. :) Keep them coming!*

    NOTES

    1. As you know, I have been posting interviews for each of the seniors that we've previewed on the blog. Well, since this Friday is our last Senior Session, it's your turn to ask the questions! Fair is fair, so this time, Jodi and I are the ones under the gun! They can be repeats of questions I've already asked or new ones. Send questions to rodney@gehmanphotography.com or just write them in the comment sections.

    2. We are Netflix fans, because you would have to sell one of your kidneys to afford two tickets and food at a movie theater. The last movie we watched was "Reign Over me". Ummmm.....yeah. I heard amazing reviews, and while the point of the movie was fantastic, I felt as though they successfully made a 2 hour movie seem like 3 hours. I didn't enjoy the movie, although, props to Adam Sandler for finally showing that he can play a serious character.... and I envied his room full of musical equipment.

    3. We spent the evening with our good friends Stephen and Sam Bender last night, and although it pains me greatly to admit this, my Wii Fitness Age is 47. I will save Jodi the humiliation of mentioning her Wii age. :) My arms are sore...
