    Sarah+Jeremy :: Love

    This won't be the last you'll be seeing of this couple!  They're getting married on Saturday, and came by the studio today for some engagement photos.  We're praying for warm weather this weekend, guys!  It will be our first wedding in almost 2 months, so we're pretty anxious to get at it again.

    You know, come to think of it, we made it through 31 weddings in the past year and not one couple smeared the cake on each other.  I take that back, there was one where some cake was dropped down the brides dress, but it could have been accidental. :)  But we can't remember one wedding last year where it was intentional.  No pressure to any of you upcoming brides and grooms, I'm just mentioning it for what it's worth. :)

    Here's another family friend that has been coming to us ever since she was born 3 years ago!  She also gets cuter every time, and was very comfortable in front of the camera.

    Jodi and I started watching, just for something different, a series called "Planet Earth" put on by the Discovery Channel.  I am absolutely fascinated by our Earth and how God created so many AMAZING things!  And most of the time, we go about our routine and we miss everything that's out there for us to see.  Our little corn field world grows in around us and we forget there is better scenery than this. :)  This mini-series uncovers a lot of those hidden or rarely seen things of Earth with breath-taking video footage and a huge film budget.  You owe it to yourself to check it out.

    Our Kids... finally!!

    They're cute. We know. You can't imagine how difficult it is to try and stay humble with kids this good-looking! :) It's funny how a roofer has a leaky roof, and a mechanic's car leaks oil, and a photographer doesn't have pictures of their own kids... in fact, their Great-Grandmother in PA mailed us money to send her a picture of the kids!!! Isn't that horrible??!! Our relatives have to bribe us! But, Alana turned 2 yrs old last Friday, and we had an excuse to get her into the studio for some photos. Of course, once we realized that large canvas gallery wraps were inevitable, we had to take some of Jackson as well.

    This what we get when we tell him to just do whatever he wants. :)

    I'm trying something new with putting the images on our blog.  I hope the loading time is faster and that we won't have any more of those hidden pictures.  That's annoying, I know.  Hopefully I remedied that.

    This is hilarious to me... I read an article yesterday about how the Earth will be sucked into the Sun's gravity field in 1 billion years and will burn up our oceans and we'll all die.  Which, if that's true, then whatever.  The funny part is that they say there is a way to stop that process.  All we have to do in the next couple hundred million years is, and I quote, "tame an asteroid to swing by the Earth every few thousand years".  I laughed out loud.  I think we watch too much TV.  Even if it was possible.... it still sounds hilarious.  Tame an asteroid.

    This adorable little family has been regulars in our studio for a couple of years now, and they seem to just get cuter every time they come in!!

    This is in our house shot from the basement looking upstairs to the front door.  We put an old folding table on the steps and kids love sliding down it!

    Emily+Wes :: Love

    Emily and Wes's wedding is coming up at the end of this summer and they needed a nice formal shot for "Save the Date" cards.  So they and Jodi stepped into the studio to grab a couple of engagement portraits.

    If you're new to Gehman Photography, the engagement session is complimentary with any of our wedding packages.  It is a wonderful chance for us to get to know the bride-&-groom-to-be a little bit before the wedding.  The images have been used to make wedding favors, Save-the-Date's, invitations, guest books, albums, and even reception candle wraps.

    Lindsay + Brian

    We have been spending quite a bit of time on wedding albums the past 2 months and we're finally caught up, or at least very close. :)  We're also spending quite a bit of time shoveling snow.  Some of the big things coming up this next month for us are Sarah and Jeremy's wedding next Saturday, and later in March, we're taking a week-long trip to Haiti!  We were so blessed by our time in Africa last year, that we have made a commitment that we would try to do some sort of missions trip every year.  We plan to include our children, once they are old enough to understand what we're doing and actually remember the trip, but for now it's just Jodi and I.  My brother and his wife will be joining us this year.

    Here's another wedding from a few years ago for your enjoyment! :) Sorry it's little pictures this time.

    Grady, Sophie + 28.

    Hello Monday!  Today marks the day where I switch my total years of age from 27 to 28.  Why, it seems like just last year I was turning 27 and now here we are.  But, I look at my life... the opportunities I've had, the friends I've made, the places I've been, things I've been able to do that a lot of people never get to do... and I'm grateful.   It's been an amazing ride so far, and Lord willing, the second 28 years will be better yet!

    **Updated***

    This is for all of you, who like me, did construction at one time.

    I recently began the delving back into weddings we've shot prior to the launch of this magnificent thing we call "the Blog."  I went back to those weddings and applied some of the post-processing that I didn't do back then, just to see what it would look like, and here you go....
