Victoria + Eric :: Forever
This was our first experience photographing at The Barn in Solon, IA. If you've never been there, you owe yourself a little drive up there to check it out. Dick Schwab is the guy who built the barn, and he was more accommodating than we could imagine. From helping us pose the bride's shoes for a shoe shot in the barn, to driving us and our gear to a photo location on his John Deere Gator, to checking in from time to time to see if we need anything... we've never met a nicer guy.
Anyway, back to the wedding.
Victoria and Eric's wedding day was about as perfect as they could have asked for, with a beautiful blue sky setting the backdrop for the outdoor ceremony. We loved the style of the wedding, from the simplicity of Victoria's gown, to the light colored guys' suits, to the place settings, pies instead of a wedding cake... it was all unique, and very much Victoria and Eric.

You both seem to have confidence and direction in where you're going, and in who you are. Together, you have a wonderful spirit about you. Dear Rodney and Jodi,
Hi, again. Marion and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you both at Victoria and Eric's recent wedding. I looked at the images from the wedding and from their engagement sittings you had done on your blog this morning. Marion and I just wanted to share with you, and any newly engaged couples looking for their photographer, how absolutely impressed we were in the quality and creativity of your work. Although I've just seen the highlights of both collections, your work is fresh, fun, loving, creative, and both artistically and technically superb.
Marion and I are older than you both and we've been in the professional photography field for over thirty years. We are not quick to give out compliments, and we feel that many of the newest generation of photographers simply buy a camera and some business cards and think they are professionals overnight. But the work the two of you are doing is really superb, and we also found your warmth, politeness, skill with people, ability to contribute to the beauty of the wedding and your overall professionalism very impressive. The results are beyond what I imagined.
We've got to get back to our work here in our studio, but we wanted to take a moment to thank you for doing such an superb job for our daughter Victoria and our new son-in-law Eric. Victoria + Eric had the cutest wedding ever. These details are nice. Even I have been reading various such blogs nowadays and they are helping me a lot plan my own DIY wedding that we would have at one of the best event halls for rent in New York City.
