Chelsey and Keaton :: Forever

I would liken it to a heat-seeking, laser guided missile.


That's what the bouquet looked like when Chelsey let it fly during the wedding reception!  Jodi and I photograph dozens of weddings each year, and have never seen a bouquet rocket before!  And, the flowers made it to the back row of ladies, which also doesn't happen very often! 


Chelsey and Keaton's wedding took us to Prairie Du Chien Wisconsin, even though the wedding itself was across the Mississippi River in McGregor, Iowa. This historic little river town quickly became one of our favorites! I was told that each business owner downtown is responsible to keep up the historic atmosphere of their property, and I would say that everyone's doing a pretty good job of it.

You guys are crazy, and have some crazy friends! ;)  We could tell that you love to have fun, but you also enjoy being with each other, and stealing kisses when no one's looking!  We enjoyed working with you and your families, and know that you have a great support team around you as you move forward in your lives together.  We enjoyed working with the two of you and you couldn't have asked for a nicer day.  Thank you again for letting us be part of it! Congratulations!"

Michelle + Sam :: Forever

A few days ago, we were blessed and honored to be part of Michelle + Sam's wedding in Des Moines, and it was fun to photograph in some all-new locations.

We loved the architecture and ambiance of the Basilica of St John, and from Michelle's veil, to kids waving streamers during the couple's exit, to the '69 Buick getaway car, to "The R Factor", the live band from Minnesota, that rocked the reception at Sticks... this wedding was stylin'!  

Michelle + Sam, you guys were awesome!  You were very detailed and prepared... but were relaxed and easy to work with.  We wish you all the best in your new lives, and hope that we get the pleasure of photographing you again someday! :)

Amanda + Joe :: Forever

Amanda and Joe had been waiting so long for this day to finally arrive, that they were about as relaxed a couple as you could ask for. Amanda's health had kept them from getting married last July, like they had planned, so they moved the wedding to this year. Then, she was back in the hospital the week prior to the wedding, and we weren't sure how things were going to go.

But, she's a strong woman, and has a great man by her side! She convinced the doctors to let her go a few days early, so she could get ready for the wedding. :)

We're so happy for these two, because they've truly become our friends. We wish them all the best in their life together...

How many times to you get the chance to photograph the rings with the grooms shoes? Not very many.

Joe sang "The Broken Road" to Amanda during the service. It was beautiful!

Lauren + Jimmy :: Andrew Bryant Photography

It's not very often that we get to help at a wedding with someone we've never met... in fact, this would be the first time. :) About 2 years ago, or so, Jodi was surfing through some photographers on the web, and came across Andrew Bryant Photography in North Carolina. Upon reading his website, we wrote to him to say hello, and that we liked his work and appreciated his openness with his faith. Since then, we've been emailing, iChatting, Facebooking and Twittering him to poke fun at his allegiences to Nikon and Ohio State, and work out a time that we could meet each other.

Well, it all worked itself out this past weekend as we were both in Lancaster PA on the same weekend, and he had a wedding to work. If you read the previous post, you'll read that I was sick and couldn't go along, so Jodi took my spot. It's always fun to see how other people work. You either learn from them, or they learn from you. Best case scenario is a little of both!

Anyway, here's a few of the shots Jodi came home with. You need to go to Andrew's blog to get the inside scoop on the wedding and to see some of his images.

It was intensely foggy that day, but I would say the fog lent itself very well to cool images...
